  Government award BARA £600,000 to roll-out Automating Manufacturing Programme 

Following recommendations made in an industry study last year, the Application of Automation in UK Manufacturing 27 Sept 2010, Government has now awarded £600,000 to fund an Automating Manufacturing Programme managed by BARA which aims to encourage the uptake of automation among UK manufacturers.


  Blade UPS for High-Efficiency Data Centres and Virtualised Servers

Eaton has confirmed that the design of its modular 3-phase BladeUPS is particularly suited to use in small and medium-sized data centres to protect high-density blade servers and IT equipment.

It is also easy to install and use, and can scale in line with growing power needs, complementing Eaton’s existing IT UPS offering and providing an ideal fit for the product portfolios of both IT distributors and resellers.


 New Large Digit Loop Powered Indicators Introduced

The range includes field and panel mounting models with a choice of four digits 34mm high, or five digits 29mm high with a 31 segment bargraph. All have an extended operating temperature of –40ºC to +70ºC and include a square root extractor, sixteen segment lineariser, internal calibrator together with a tare function. Optional accessories include a backlight that may be loop or separately powered and dual alarms with isolated solid state outputs.


  Hima-Sella Upgrades Emergency Shutdown Systems at Lucite’s Cassel Works

The upgrade applies to MM7 - one of the site’s two Methacrylate-based Monomer (MM) plastics processing plants - and will see the gradual replacement of several dozen legacy ESD systems with a solution implemented using eight HIMA HIQuad H51q programmable electronic systems
