Harvesting energy from the sun using photovoltaic is getting more and more popular all over the world. Due to the price decrease for PV-modules, this renewable energy will become profitable for residential and industrial buildings soon – even without getting subsidies.
This innovative fuse holder, from Wöhner, for string fuses 10x38 is directly mounted to a busbar. Assembly and electrical connection is combined in one installation step. Mounting expensive comb type busbar is no longer necessary. This saves time and costs when installing PV junction boxes.
The use of standard busbars up to 30x10 mm allows for the collection of array currents up to 630A. In addition to collecting high currents at favourable prices, the busbars have a wide range of accessories. Thus, all common types of cable can be connected using a UL-listed terminal of the CRITO® family.
The design of the new AMBUS®60Classic is optimised for high power ratings of 4W. Photovoltaic fuses with the gPV characteristic have a higher power dissipation than the standard gG types. Additionally, higher temperatures occur in non-air-conditioned junction boxes. To ensure convenient operation over years, a spacer is integrated in the device, this ensures the air duct in between the fuse holders contributes to better heat dissipation as well as ensuring the busbar remains covered. Additional shrouding is not necessary – simplified engineering at reduced installation costs.
As usual for Wöhner, there is also a version with LED to indicate a blown fuse.
